Text to PDF

Turning plain text into a PDF gives you a portable, print-ready document that looks the same everywhere — useful for notes, logs, transcripts or sharing a snippet in a fixed format. FileTinker wraps long lines, paginates automatically and keeps your paragraph breaks.

Everything is generated in your browser with pdf-lib, including the font embedding that makes Chinese and other non-Latin text render correctly. Nothing is uploaded, so even sensitive text stays on your device.

A common trigger is an upload form that only accepts PDF — job portals, university submission systems and government sites often reject .txt files outright. Instead of installing an office suite to save one page, paste the text and generate the file directly. The same applies when you need a printable copy of meeting minutes, a packing list or terminal output: PDF gives you predictable page breaks where plain text leaves printing to chance.

Plain text carries characters only — no bold, no headings, no font choices — which is exactly why it converts so predictably. If you paste from a word processor, any styling is dropped but the words and blank lines survive, so check the box for stray line breaks before converting. Hard-wrapped text pasted from emails or code editors is the usual culprit: remove mid-sentence breaks first, and let the wrapping happen at layout time instead.
