Privacy Policy

Your files never leave your device. Every image, PDF and document tool runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own computer and are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

We don't require an account, and we don't ask for personal information to use the tools. The main data collected on this site comes from advertising cookies, described below.

Files you process: none are sent to us. All conversions, compression and edits happen locally in your browser, and the files are discarded from memory when you close or leave the page.

Account information: none. FileTinker has no sign-up or login.

Anonymous analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall site usage — which pages are visited, the referring site, country and browser type. It is a cookieless, privacy-first service: it sets no cookies, uses no local storage, does not fingerprint your device and does not track you across sites. The measurements are aggregated and cannot identify you.

Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. These logs are used only to operate and secure the site.

A few tools need a one-time download to run in your browser: the background remover fetches an AI model, the image-to-text (OCR) tool fetches language data, and the document-to-PDF tools fetch a CJK font when your text needs it. These files are served by third-party content delivery networks (such as Hugging Face, jsDelivr and the Tesseract data host) and are cached by your browser after the first use.

Your files themselves are never uploaded — but your browser’s request for the model or font does reach those CDNs, which, like any web request, exposes your IP address and basic request details to them. If you would rather not contact a CDN, simply avoid those particular tools.

We use Google AdSense to display ads, which helps keep FileTinker free. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and personalise ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to FileTinker and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/choices.

Because your files are never uploaded, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. We don't build profiles of you, and we don't sell personal information.

FileTinker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
