Fade Audio In & Out
Give an audio file a smooth fade-in at the start and fade-out at the end. Set each fade length in seconds, then download as MP3 or WAV — all in your browser.
Lengths are in seconds. Set a fade to 0 to skip it.
How to fade audio
- Drop in your audio file.
- Set the fade-in and fade-out lengths in seconds (use 0 to skip one).
- Choose MP3 or WAV and download the faded clip.
About audio fades
A fade-in gradually raises the volume from silence at the start; a fade-out gradually lowers it to silence at the end. Fades remove abrupt clicks and pops at the boundaries and give clips a polished, professional start and finish — essential for ringtones, loops, intros and outros.
This tool applies a linear fade over the seconds you choose, at each end independently. The audio is decoded, the fade is applied sample-by-sample, then re-encoded to MP3 or WAV — all locally, with nothing uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fade just the start or just the end?
Yes. Set the fade you want in seconds and leave the other at 0 — only the non-zero fade is applied.
How long should the fade be?
It’s up to you. A short 1–2 second fade is subtle; 3–5 seconds gives a gentle, gradual change. The fade can’t be longer than the clip itself.
What formats can I use?
Any audio your browser can decode (MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC and more). The result downloads as MP3 or WAV.
Is my audio uploaded?
No. Fading happens entirely in your browser, so your file never leaves your device.
